BEACH GUARD
G4S IS THE LARGEST BEACH GUARD SERVICE PROVIDER IN ESTONIA
The first beach guard unit started working in 1998
We have trained over 1,000 lifeguards
We provide coastguard services on 20 beaches across Estonia
Beach guard includes:
- observing beach regulations,
- ensuring the well-being of beach visitors,
- lifeguard,
- cleaning and marking of the beach area and water area,
- collecting and sharing beach information to the public,
- providing first aid.
We solve about 2,900 violations of beach rules on Estonian beaches every year.
In addition to ensuring water safety, lifeguards help beach visitors find lost children and ensure order on the beach. In addition to rescue and first aid skills, lifeguards have acquired knowledge of psychology.
Since the work is seasonal, there are people who have been in the coast guard for years. Our lifeguards are from very different walks of life - among them there are educators, doctors, rescuers, coaches and top swimmers. Young G4S trainees work as lifeguards' assistants in the
summer.
G4S lifeguards are trained in accordance with the professional standard approved by the Estonian Qualifications Authority.
G4S lifeguards:
- know the basic rules and tactics of water rescue,
- know the dangers leading to water accidents and try to prevent them,
- act quickly and correctly in the event of a water accident,
- know how to use the equipment and rescue tools necessary for the provision of beach guard services,
- provide first aid to victims if necessary.
