SERVICE STAFF SAFETY TRAINING

Service attendants occasionally come across people who behave in a challenging manner. Such concerns mainly arise in establishments that serve customers at night and where there are few people at work at the same time. Institutions invest in security devices, surveillance cameras and alarm services for the sake of security, but when resolving potential conflicts, they often rely on their employees’ personal characteristics and previous work and life experience.

Employees who are aware of the factors that increase and decrease safety, who know how to take into account the advantages and disadvantages of their work environment, who know the legal background and know the principles of self-defense, make better decisions regarding dangerous behaviour.

Our goal is to raise the awareness of service staff when communicating with a conflicted person and ensuring their own safety. Our training consists of a lecture and a practical exercise carried out in the employee’s workplace or in G4S study rooms across Estonia.

Content of the training:

  • legislation,
  • conditions in the work environment that increase and decrease safety,
  • self-defense measures,
  • calling for help,
  • practical exercises.
